Urban trace is a one episode television program developed for ‘Sala de Notícias’ – ‘News Room’ – a program at Canal Futura – Futura Channel.
In its’ 459 years of existence, the city of São Paulo has a very peculiar characteristic: it reinvents itself every 25 years.
An anthropophagic architecture, which since the 19th century has been progressing, and the frenetic move to modernise and verticalize the city has attracted new European techniques and décor, providing the city of São Paulo a French Belle Époque scent, while, at the same time, an imprint of the American inspired Chicago architectural style is being developed. One of the many city icons, the Martinelli building is an example. Urban Trace will, with the help of the architects Ruy Ohtake and Ciro Pirondi and the support of the historian Maria Izilda Matos, present the history, curiosities, influences and changes in the architecture of the biggest metropolis in Latin America.
