Students and professionals in the areas of comunications, film and publicity
PURPOSE
To show students that the financial feasibility study and the planning and execution of a correct and adequate budget are as important as a film´s idea , subject and screenplay in order that the film can make it to the movie screen.
CONTENT
The workshop will be developed starting with the related topics below , always focusing on the relationship of the producer with the film´s budget and his/her commitment to the financial health of the project. This workshop will emphasize the importance of planning within the structure of the execution of the film.
· "Who´s Who?" - The difference between the functions of
Producer, Executive Producer and Director of Production;
· The first steps towards the execution of the budget;
· How to evaluate if the screenplay can be realized within the limits
of the proposed budget;
· Creativity in the creation and execution of a budget;
· How to produce a film that stays within the estimated budget;
· What Production Design means;
· How to do Production Design starting with a screenplay;
· The importance of technical analysis and the plan for filming in the
execution of a budget;
· The relationship of the Executive Producer with the film-making team;
· Agreements and commitments neccesary to keep the film within the budget;
· Strategies for budget control;
· Gathering resources;
· The importance of bartering;
· Releasing the film commercialy.
Curriculum Vitae
Elisa Tolomelli tem formação Publicitária e trabalha em cinema há mais de 15 anos. Durante esse período acumulou experiência em várias etapas da produção cinematográfica: Roteiro, Direção, Produção, Distribuição e Exibição. Ganhou o Prêmio de Melhor Filme no Festival de Berlim (Urso de Ouro) e uma indicação ao Oscar de Filme Estrangeiro com o filme CENTRAL DO BRASIL. CIDADE DE DEUS, uma de suas últimas produções, foi um dos nomeados para o Globo de Ouro e para o prêmio BAFTA de melhor filme estrangeiro, ganhou mais de 52 outros prêmios Internacionais, e foi indicado ao Oscar em 4 categorias (Melhor Diretor, Fotografia, Montagem e Roteiro).
